History
Amazing Race@Singapore River
Our Secondary One students embarked on a learning journey to the Singapore River with the theme, “From a sleepy fishing village into a modern metropolis”. Through this they were able to gather information and data for their ‘Historical Investigation’ in a fun and engaging way based on an amazing race format. In addition, they were also able to apply Maths concepts and EL elements to challenges set to them in their learning journey.
Historical Investigation: Merger & Separation
Our Secondary Two students were tasked with conducting a Historical Investigation into the topic of Merger and Separation. Students analysed historical sources, then created an end product based on their understanding of the reasons why Singapore merged with or separated from Malaya. Through this experience, our students saw how history can come alive as they are able to evaluate the significance of the past and its impact on the present and even the future.
Geography
Geographical Investigations
Our Secondary 1 students embarked on a virtual learning journey through Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Students examined the human impacts on this precious habitat, and channeled their learning creatively, and proposed practical solutions to support conservation efforts.
Bite-sized Fieldwork: Geography in Everyday Life
Secondary Three students applied Geographical concepts through the fieldwork project. Students researched the history of their selected town, and created a video to share about its sustainability features. The students could see the relevance of the concepts, highlighting Geography in Everyday life.
Social Studies
The Social Studies Issues Investigation offers an exciting opportunity for students to dive deep into real-world issues. Students become researchers, exploring multiple perspectives from various stakeholders, sharpening their inference and data management skills. By reflecting on their findings, they’ll create a meaningful solution to the issue—becoming agents of change.
